Description
A small-batch dual extract of UK-grown lion’s mane (Hericium erinaceus) fruiting bodies, made in Dorset by Spore & Bloom.
About lion’s mane
Lion’s mane is one of the most striking fungi in the world: instead of a cap and gills, it grows as a white, rounded mass of cascading icicle-like spines. It has a long culinary history in East Asia, where it is prized for a delicate, seafood-like texture, and in recent decades it has become one of the most researched functional mushrooms.
How it’s made
We use whole lion’s mane fruiting bodies grown in the UK, rather than mycelium grown on grain. Each batch is extracted twice: in hot water with the help of ultrasound, and separately in ethanol. Each solvent draws out different naturally occurring constituents, and the two extracts are combined into one tincture at a 1:3 ratio.
How to take it
Shake well. Take 1–2ml daily, directly or added to water, juice or tea. Do not exceed 3ml per day. A 50ml bottle lasts about 25 days at the suggested amount.
Ingredients
Lion’s mane (Hericium erinaceus) fruiting body extract, water, plant-derived ethanol (30% alcohol).
